    Archie

    2002 Arabian gelding, 14hh

    Archie came to Dutch Acres in 2019 from a rescue farm and it has been a match made in heaven. He is an eager-to-please little guy who is trustworthy to carry our littles. But Archie can also be spicy sometimes, earning him the show name “Hot Tamale”! Dressage work is his favorite and he loves taking kids to horse shows.

    Moony

    2005 Arabian/Quarter horse gelding, 15.1hh

    Moony is an Arabian-Quarter Horse cross and everyone’s favorite unicorn! Moony has a foundation in hunter-jumper shows and started his dressage career as “Expecto Patronum” with Audrey in 2018. He joined the Dutch Acres lesson horse family in 2022 and both he and his riders have loved everything about it since! Moony’s a sweetheart who’s always ready to smile and give you a hug and kiss (as long as you have treats ready)! Moony’s favorite lessons are the ones where he gets to teach people how to canter.

  • Molly Weasley

    2012 Halflinge/Quarter horse cross, 13.2hh

    Miss Molly is Audrey’s project horse who has turned into a fan-favorite lesson pony. Molly is still figuring out her place in the world and gets nervous with her lesson pony life. Molly can be found begging for treats and calling for her friends every time she sees them walking back to the pasture! Molly’s favorite lesson is teaching little ones how to trot!

    Jacko

    2006 Thoroughbred gelding, 15.1hh

    Jacko is a former eventing horse. He became a lesson horse after a stifle injury that ended his eventing career. Despite his struggles, he loves what he does and is always happy to go to work! Jacko is the best treat-sniffer around and is known for his goofy personality. Jacko loves to teach steering figures at the trot.

    Dan

    Thoroughbred gelding, 16hh

    Dan is an old hand at giving lessons. He has a lifetime of experience in making a difference in kids’ lives by teaching therapeutic riding lessons. Now, in his old age, he’s the perfect gentle giant for teaching younger kids to walk, steer, and trot for the first time! In Dan’s free time, he likes to make music! You can hear him whinnying his songs at feeding time.

    Jeeves

    1994 Warmblood gelding, 17hh

    Jeeves retired from his previous career which included Eventing and Dressage. In his prime, Jeeves was an unstoppable force! Now in his old age, he’s slowed down and is perfect for taking kids to their first horse shows and learning advanced skills. He is on loan to Dutch Acres to help with the next generation of riders. He walks like a snail, whinnies like a dinosaur, and loves with all his heart. Jeeves’ favorite thing to teach is how to follow his big, bouncy movements while still maintaining a good dressage frame!

    Quasar

    Andalusian/Standardbred gelding, 16hh

    Quasar and Kat used to perform at dressage shows together, but now he’s training the next generation of dressage riders! Quasar is quite a perfectionist, and riders have to work hard to live up to his standards. He’s a gorgeous show master and he loves teaching students to ride every step of the way to reach their goals.

    Ria

    2004 Azteca mare, 15.3hh

    Ria has a history in dressage training but prefers the lesson horse life instead. “Arriesgada del Callisto” or the “Risky Goddess” is the princess of the farm, and isn’t afraid to let anyone know! She loves compliments and being spoiled. Ria’s favorite lesson to teach is obstacle courses with tiny tots and adult riders both!

    Waffles

    2010 Miniature horse gelding, 8.1hh

    Waffles is the newest project pony at Dutch Acres and we are looking forward to seeing him become a lesson horse for the tiny tots! Waffles is friendly as can be and he loves the little ones most of all!

    Applejack (AJ)

    2020 Appaloosa gelding

    AJ is the project horse out at the barn and a future lesson horse in training! He is a fast learner and we have high hopes for him to make a superb lesson horse in a few years. AJ is a very chill guy and isn’t bothered by much. And yes, he does love apples.

    Sweetie Pie

    2012 Welsh pony mare

    Sweetie Pie joined Dutch Acres in 2022 and lives up to her name. She may be small, but she makes up for it with her big personality and love for everyone. Sweetie Pie is a favorite for our summer camps and loves teaching young kids the basics of horseback riding.

  • Dutchess

    1986-2023 Quarter Horse cross, 15hh

    Dutch is the namesake of our farm and was the very first horse in our program! She was Kat’s first horse and was still a force of nature with plenty of character up until her final days.

  • Mater

    ?-2023 Minature horse, 10.2hh

    Mater was our first miniature horse who quickly became a favorite to all riders, siblings, and parents at Dutch Acres, but for little ones in particular! The “tiny tots” out at the farm adored Mater, and he loved them just as much! With his heart of gold and a lion’s mane, sweet mini Mater could steal anyone’s heart.
