Introduction Lesson

Curious about Dutch Acres? Sign up for a one time Introductory lesson and come get to know us! Our intro lessons are about 30 minutes of ride time and a great way to see if our program is a good fit.

Dutch Acres strives to produce equestrians who not only know how to ride, but also have the fundamental horsemanship skills to advance through the equine industry. It is our hope that our students will go on to be high functioning and contributing members of the equestrian community. We incorporate horsemanship skills into each and every lesson. Part of our program includes ground lessons during inclement weather to learn aspects of horsemanship that can’t be learned while riding. Our extensive ground lesson program includes topics such as: equine first aid, what to look for when buying a horse, how to recognize and work through show anxiety, and rider biomechanics.

Day Camps

Dutch Acres offers winter and summer horse camps every year. Camps include games, crafts, ground and mounted lessons each day. Camps are a great opportunity for new riders to get an introduction to our program and for current riders to spend more time at the barn!
